weekly reading, volume 4

happy weekend! this past week flew by, like they all do.

we had such a good time celebrating stephen's CPA accomplishment yesterday with family and friends - I can't wait to share photos this week!

one word: burrata. I can't remember the first time I tried burrata but I've been on a kick lately. we had burrata at nino's on our valentine's date and I've had it at carabba's twice now. FYI burrata means buttered in italian, so you know it's good. of course, I did some research and made sure carabba's burrata is vegetarian. phew. I really want to recreate this at home, chop up some tomatoes and basil with a drizzle of balsamic and voila!

I just finished my photo 1 photography class at showcase school in atlanta. we have an exciting meetup as a class coming soon and I've already booked a photo 2 class to start in april. and big news! I'll be taking a dear friend's engagement photos soon with my new skillz. I even bought a fixed lens so I can get that gorgeous blur and I'm taking a special portrait-focused class next week. I don't mess around. can't wait to see you, elizabeth!

in our last photo class session this past week, our instructor said something that really stuck with me. "don't just take photographs, make them." get those creative juices flowing! besides, I didn't go to yoga at all last week so when I can't get my inspiration from my yoga teacher - it must come from my photo teacher right?!

and last but not least - stephen and I are getting excited to take a trip down to watersound on 30A this week. we are in major need of some R&R. and mojitos. and fresh fish. this is a shot of us last year after many sunset cocktails at bud and alley's. yay for having a real camera this year.

oh and did you notice the new look of laurensparkle?! a subtle and streamlined change that I hope you love as much as I do.

have a wonderful, restful end to your weekend and cheers to a great week ahead!

    1. thank you!!!! I'm definitely working on my photography and lugging my camera with me everywhere :) the hard part is that no one knows how to take pictures using it, so I'm always behind the camera. I need to start bringing my tripod!
