my best friend's bachelorette: part two

after getting a great night's sleep on friday, we woke up ready to conquer the day and start the day two bachelorette party celebrations! we woke the guests up with sausage egg casserole, cinnamon rolls, fruit, and a mimosa bar to get the group energized for the day's festivities.

after breakfast, we filled up our monogrammed tumblers with spiked lemonade and made the short drive over to barton springs in our matching bachelorette tanks, of course.

texas has some amazingly beautiful, natural water parks and barton springs is very well known. everyone in our group knew about barton springs but not one of us had been before! it was fun to do something local to austin and it took a bit of exploration to find the creek - once we did, it was worth it.

the day turned out to be really hot, being that it's a natural spring, the water was quite cold. we picked a spot with both sun and shade options, turned our speakers on, and spent a few hours laying out and catching up.

no bachelorette is complete without the matching apparel factor, no matter how small or large your group - you've gotta designate your crew, this also serves as the ultimate attention-getter which some people love and some people loathe. we made our tanks through and they turned out perfectly.

after a few hours in the sun, we headed home for naps and showers before getting the evening started. the best advice is to not drink too much during the day of the bachelorette, as we all know, things can go downhill quickly and the next thing you know - the bride's out of commission at 4pm and you've missed your dinner reservation.

before going to dinner, we played a game of bridal jeopardy. the groom was asked questions ahead of time on video and the bride had to guess his answers. if answers didn't match, guests had to partake in champagne jello shots and boozy gummy bears.

for dinner, the guests wore black dresses and the bride wore white - we all wore our cowboy boots and bling. the group went to fonda san miguel to enjoy much needed mexican food and margaritas! afterward, we all took uber to west 6th street and played more bachelorette games while we were out.

...and just like that, the weekend flew by, she'll be a married woman in less than two months. I'm already looking forward to spending more time with this great group of girls at the wedding.
