homemade pizza + game night

sundays usually mean homemade pizza and watching homeland for us [finale last week!]. this sunday, my sister and her boyfriend came over to make pizza and watch football with us. after watching the falcons lose to the panthers, we played some new games I got for christmas including jenga and hedbanz.

lately I've been wanting to have games on hand to play when we have friends over, so I asked for some for christmas. I also received battle of the sexes and uncorked under the tree. jenga is a family favorite - hedbanz was new for me, although I've played the app version... this game was super fun and a bit challenging too.

I can't wait to play the other games soon! there are still a few more games on my wish list: battleship and hungry hungry hippos for now. what games do you love to play? I'd love to add them to my list. all in all, it was a relaxing and fun night in with yummy food and great company. xo, lam

ingredients for one pizza:
-one container of pre-rolled dough from publix bakery (or a ball of dough if you prefer)
-jar of pizza sauce, your choice
-one block of mozzarella cheese if you want to grate it yourself (or a package of shredded mozzarella)
-toppings of your choice (we use mushrooms and turkey pepperoni)
-small amount of flour or oil for prep

1. preheat oven to 400 degrees. start sautéing mushrooms if desired.
2. remove dough from container and toss a few times to loosen up. stretch and spread dough on round pizza pan to your desired thickness.
3. use flour or olive oil to coat the top of the pizza dough, then spread pizza sauce evenly on top leaving a small amount of the perimeter un-sauced (this will be the crust).
4.  top generously with grated mozzarella cheese, layer other toppings on afterward
5. bake for approximately 17-20 minutes or until cheese is lightly browned. remove and let cool before slicing. enjoy!

pre-rolled pizza dough at publix bakery will change your life. really cuts down on the messy prep work and clean up.

mmmm we love mushrooms!

before and after, voila!
